Systematic prospection of the terrain in the area of ​​the village Nakolec, Prespa

During November, the Archaeological Museum of RNM in cooperation with the Ruhr-University Bochum performed a systematic prospection in the area of ​​the village Nakolec, Prespa.

During the research, surface traces from settlements from the Hellenistic, Roman and Medieval periods were found and documented, as well as the remains of two pile dwellings.

It is a pilot project, which from next year will grow into a long-term cooperation between these two institutions.

The research was led by Dr. Barbora Vajsova and Dr. Damjan Donev, and the rest of the team consisted of Radomir Ivanovic from the Archaeological Museum, Dr. Axel Miss, Vera Dolezalkova, Ana Lisa Schneider, MA,  Ankatrin Benz, MA, Clarissa Hubenthal and Mark Klaus.
